I began my aviation journey back in 2014 when I commissioned as an officer in the U.S Army Reserve. I was accepted in to a unit that was transitioning from an Attack Reconnaissance Battalion into an Assault Helicopter Battalion. In other words, we were transitioning from an AH-64 Apache unit in to a UH-60 Black hawk unit. My full-time job was in industrial construction. After years of struggling to make the 2 jobs compatible with one another, I finally decided to make the transition from Construction to the airlines. After talking to numerous pilots, comparing method cost vs efficiency, getting countless quotes from flight schools, and getting my buy-in from my wife, I began my walk down the long path to the airlines. My plan was to continue to work my 2 jobs and either fly after work or on the weekend. After many roadblocks along the way, I finally made it. This website is about giving you my lessons learned along the way so you can make your own path to the airlines, and navigate the waters once you get there.
